Meta's AI Spending Pays Off
Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram, has been spending a lot of money on AI and new data centers.
At first, investors were worried and the stock price dropped.
But now, they see that this spending is paying off.
Meta's ads are getting better because of AI, which makes people click on them more and buy things more often.
The company's revenue grew a lot last year, and they expect even more growth this year.
They are still building more data centers to keep up with the demand for AI.
Meta's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, says they are just starting to see what AI can do and there's much more to come.
Meta's capital spending nearly doubled from $39 billion in 2024 to $72 billion in 2025, with projections up to $135 billion in 2026.
Meta's revenue grew 22% year over year in 2025 to $201 billion, with potential gains of up to 34% in the current quarter.
AI improvements led to a 3.5% increase in ad clicks on Facebook and a 1% increase in conversions on Instagram.
Meta's video-generation tools for ad creation hit a $10 billion revenue run rate in the fourth quarter.
Meta is still capacity-constrained and is building more data centers to support AI growth.
