Kishan Reddy Urges Action on Warangal Fort Encroachments
Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy has asked the Chief Minister of Telangana to take action against people who have built unauthorised structures on the land of Warangal Fort.
The fort is a very old and important historical site that was built by the Kakatiya dynasty.
It has special walls to protect it, but some of these walls have been damaged or taken over by people building new things.
The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), which looks after old and important places, has sent many notices to remove these unauthorised buildings, but not much has been done so far.
The minister wants the government to fix the records to show that the fort land belongs to the ASI and to take strict action against those who have taken over the land.
The central government has also been working to improve the fort by adding new lights and sounds to attract more tourists.
Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy urged Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to remove unauthorised constructions and evict encroachers from Warangal Fort lands.
Warangal Fort, a protected monument under ASI, has only three of its original seven fortification walls remaining.
ASI has issued multiple notices to evict encroachers, but no effective action has been taken so far.
Revenue records incorrectly list fort lands as government land instead of ASI property, hindering action against encroachments.
The central government has installed a sound and illumination lighting system at the fort to promote tourism.
