Himachal Pradesh Issues Orange Alert for Heavy Rain

The Meteorological Department in Shimla has issued an orange alert for the Nahan subdivision in Sirmaur district, Himachal Pradesh.

This alert indicates a high likelihood of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning, which could lead to flash floods, landslides, and other weather-related incidents.

To ensure the safety of students and staff, all educational institutes, including schools, colleges, and anganwadis, will be closed on July 29.

However, pre-scheduled examinations in these institutes will continue as per their fixed schedule.

The Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Nahan, Rajiv Sankhyan, has ordered strict compliance with this closure to prioritize the safety and security of the students.
