Ex-Haryana MLA and Official Arrested in Money Laundering Case
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested a former Haryana MLA, Ram Niwas, and an ex-official in relation to a money laundering case.
They are accused of stealing money from a government body, the HSVP.
It's alleged that around Rs 70 crore was taken from an HSVP bank account between 2015 and 2019 for no clear reason.
The ED believes the fraud was hidden and involved a lot more money than initially thought.
The arrests followed an investigation by the Haryana Police into the alleged fraud.
Former Haryana MLA Ram Niwas and HSVP official Sunil Kumar Bansal arrested in a money laundering case.
The ED alleges misappropriation of funds from a Haryana government body.
The case stems from a police FIR regarding alleged fraud and financial loss.
