NHRC Urged to Investigate 2009 Jogdal Massacre
A long time ago, in 2009, six people from a family were killed in their home in a place called Jogdal in Assam.
A group called Dimoria Bikash Manch is now asking a big organization called the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to help find justice for these people.
They say the police did not do a good job of investigating the case and that some important people might have been involved in the crime.
The group hopes that the NHRC will make sure the right people are punished and that the families of the victims get the justice they deserve.
The case has been going on for a very long time, and the group is asking for a fair and quick investigation.
Six members of the Doloi family were brutally killed in their home in Jogdal village on December 12, 2009.
The Dimoria Bikash Manch has petitioned the NHRC to intervene and ensure a fair investigation into the massacre.
The petition alleges that the initial investigation was flawed and that evidence was deliberately destroyed.
A prime accused, Arjun Bordoloi, was killed under mysterious circumstances in 2012, raising concerns about the investigation's integrity.
The case was transferred to the CBI in 2018 after two police officers were arrested for destroying evidence.
