Telangana SEC & DGP Discuss Local Body Polls Strategy
In Telangana, the State Election Commissioner and Director General of Police discussed plans for upcoming local body elections.
They want to make sure the elections are fair and safe, so they're planning to hold them in phases and have a committee to check for any rule-breaking.
They're also fixing any mistakes in the voter lists and polling places.
State Election Commissioner Rani Kumudini held a video conference with district collectors to discuss local body elections.
DGP B Shivdhar Reddy suggested conducting elections in three phases within each district to ensure law and order.
The SEC directed officials to form a state-level review committee to investigate Model Code of Conduct breaches.
Elections are scheduled to be held efficiently with rectified electoral rolls and republished polling stations.
