ESIC Amnesty Scheme to Resolve 27,000 Pending Legal Cases
The government's ESIC is launching the Amnesty Scheme 2025 to solve about 27,000 old disagreements with companies.
This plan, starting in late 2025, lets companies settle court cases related to the ESI Act without extra penalties if they pay what they owe.
ESIC hopes this will make it easier for companies to follow rules and reduce legal cases.
The scheme allows employers to settle disputes outside court.
Penalties are waived if dues are paid, but a 10% charge is required if companies have already paid dues but have court cases.
This scheme addresses gaps to aid ease of doing business.
ESIC approved the Amnesty Scheme 2025 to resolve pending legal cases.
The scheme runs from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026.
Around 27,000 cases are eligible, mainly in Delhi, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Kolkata.
Employers can settle disputes by paying contributions and interest.
Cases filed up to March 31, 2025, are eligible.
