Indore Couple Booked Over Alleged ₹16.70 Lakh Fraud
Police in Indore have registered a case against a couple accused of taking money from a travel agency owner.
The complainant said he knew the husband for about two years.
He alleged that he first gave ₹6 lakh after a Mercedes-Benz car was pledged as security.
The car was later taken away on the explanation that it needed repairs.
The complainant said it was not returned and was eventually found to have allegedly been sold.
He also gave about ₹2.5 lakh against a Swift car.
He said he transferred another ₹8.20 lakh because the husband said his father was ill.
The couple has been booked, but the allegations will be investigated by police.

The complainant said ₹6 lakh was given against a Mercedes-Benz car pledged on January 1.
The Mercedes-Benz was allegedly taken to a garage and later sold, according to the complaint.
A Swift car was pledged for about ₹2.5 lakh, while another ₹8.20 lakh was transferred for a medical emergency.
Police said the couple allegedly threatened the complainant when he demanded repayment and have begun further investigation.
