SVU Student Creates App for Livestock Trade
A college student named Macha Poorna Prasad made an app called the Animal Market App.
This app helps farmers and people who own animals to buy and sell them easily.
It also helps them find doctors for their animals, get reminders for vaccinations, and learn about new farming methods.
The app has already been used by many people and has helped trade a lot of animals.
The student also started a company called Ceeras that helps other students get internships.
The app was launched at his college, and the head of the college liked it very much.
Macha Poorna Prasad, a fourth-year B. Tech (CSE) student at SVU College of Engineering, developed the Animal Market App to facilitate livestock and farm produce trading.
The app aims to provide transparency and eliminate the need for middlemen, offering features like AI-based price suggestions and instant buyer interest tracking.
Users can buy and sell various animals and farm products, consult veterinarians, receive health alerts, and access educational articles on farming technologies.
The app's beta phase saw over 9,500 downloads, 15,000 active listings, 2,700 animals traded, 100 veterinarians onboard, and ₹70 lakh in transactions.
Prasad also founded the student-led startup Ceeras, which has developed applications for over 10 clients and facilitated more than 1,200 real-time internships.
