Western Railway Delays Services On Revised Timetable’s First Day

Western Railway changed its train timetable on Tuesday.

On that first day, some suburban trains ran late.

A few trains were stopped because people entered the tracks.

Other trains were delayed when passengers pulled emergency alarm chains.

Air-conditioned trains also needed extra time to make sure their doors were fully closed.

One train stopped for eight minutes at Bandra.

Another train stopped for four minutes at Borivali.

A train at Mumbai Central was held for 12 minutes because of trespassing.

These short stoppages spread through the busy railway network, causing some services to be up to 20–25 minutes late.
