Kerala Government Dissatisfied with Slow Sabarimala Gold Loss Probe
The Kerala government is unhappy with how slowly the investigation into the Sabarimala gold loss is going.
The minister in charge, K Muraleedharan, said that if the investigation team doesn't file a chargesheet by the end of the month, the government will tell the Kerala High Court about their dissatisfaction.
The investigation is looking into the loss of gold from the Sabarimala temple's idols and doorframes after they were taken for electroplating in 2025.
The former president of the Travancore Devaswom Board, P S Prasanth, has been taken into custody in connection with the case.
The current TDB president, K Jayakumar, said that with the SIT action against Prasanth, the Board's responsibilities to ensure devotees' beliefs are protected and to assure people that there are no issues in Sabarimala have increased.
