LPG, CNG and PNG Rates Listed Amid Gas-Supply Concerns

LPG, CNG and PNG Rates Listed Amid Gas-Supply Concerns

The prices of cooking gas and vehicle gas were listed for several Indian cities on September 10.

LPG is usually used for cooking in cylinders.

CNG is used mainly in vehicles, while PNG is piped gas supplied to homes.

Prices differ between cities because taxes and local charges are different.

Delhi’s CNG price has risen by nearly ₹10 per kilogram since January.

The government wants more households to use PNG to reduce subsidy costs.

It has approved an incentive plan beginning in 2026.

Tensions involving the United States and Iran have also pushed global oil prices higher because people worry that fuel supplies could be disrupted.
