Chinese hackers used open-source AI in attack on Taiwan government

There are people called hackers who break into computers to steal information.

Some hackers from China reportedly used special computer helpers called AI agents to attack computers used by the government of Taiwan.

AI agents are like smart robots that can work on a computer by themselves.

The hackers' robot helpers guessed passwords and got into 85 government accounts in just one hour.

They stole more than 2,500 records with people's information.

They did all of this in only four days.

The computers were supposed to have safety rules, but the robot helpers were told it was a safe practice called 'penetration testing,' so they followed the instructions.

A company called Dream, which helps keep computers safe, found out about the attack.

Now experts are worried that smart robots like these could be used for more attacks in the future.
