Delhi Deploys Finnish Dredger to Clean Najafgarh Drain
Delhi is using a special machine from Finland to clean the Yamuna River.
The machine is very strong and can clean a lot of dirty water and trash at once.
It's being used in a big drain called the Najafgarh drain, which is one of the main reasons the Yamuna is so polluted.
The drain carries a lot of waste from parts of Delhi into the river.
The machine can work in water and on land, and it can move the dirty stuff far away.
Delhi is also using three big boats to help move the trash.
If the machine works well, Delhi might use more of them to clean other parts of the river.
Delhi has deployed a high-tech Finnish amphibious dredger to clean the Najafgarh drain, a major source of Yamuna River pollution.
The machine can dredge silt, pump sludge, clear floating garbage, and remove water hyacinth in a single operation.
The Najafgarh drain contributes nearly 70% of the pollution flowing into the Yamuna River.
Three self-propelled hopper barges are supporting the dredging work, with a combined cost of Rs 5.25 crore.
The government plans to deploy more advanced machines if the current one performs well.
