SRM-AP Launches Student-Built Air Taxi
SRM University-AP has launched an air taxi called DOXI, which was built by a team of 10 students and their professor.
DOXI is an electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft made of carbon fiber.
It can carry up to 80 kg and fly for 25 minutes at a speed of 50 km/h.
The project shows how universities and industries can work together to create new technologies.
The university's vice-chancellor and other officials were present at the launch, which included a live demonstration.
The aircraft costs only Rs 3.5 per km to operate, making it a cost-effective solution for future air mobility.
