Air India Pilot Tests Positive for Marijuana After Turbulence Probe

A big airplane called Air India flight AI-2379 was flying from Phuket to New Delhi.

While flying high above Odisha, it suddenly dropped about 300 feet in just two seconds.

Several passengers and crew members were hurt in the sudden fall.

After the plane landed, both pilots were taken off flying duty.

Tests showed that the pilot who was in charge had used marijuana, which is against the rules.

The government sent a warning to all airlines in India saying this must never happen again.

The airline also told the plane maker Airbus that the aircraft may have had system problems.

Investigators are still checking the weather, the airplane, and the pilots to find out what really caused the drop.

They want to make sure flying stays safe for everyone.
