Zoho's Vembu Discusses India's Passport Ranking
Zoho's founder, Sridhar Vembu, talked on social media about how India's image has improved over the past decade, especially among the diaspora.
An X user named Vijay disagreed, pointing out that India's passport ranking is still low, allowing visa-free travel to only 59 countries.
Vembu explained that this is because India's GDP per capita is still low, and improving it would take decades.
Vijay argued that countries like the UAE, Malaysia, and Chile have improved their passport rankings through diplomacy, not just economic growth.
According to the Henley Passport Index, Malaysia and Chile have much stronger passports than India, with access to 180 and 176 visa-free destinations respectively, compared to India's 57.
