VinFast Opens EV Assembly Plant in Tamil Nadu, India
VinFast, a Vietnamese car company, has opened a new factory in India to make electric cars.
This factory, located in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, will produce the VF 6 and VF 7 SUV models.
The plant will begin with a capacity of 50,000 vehicles annually, which could be increased.
The project is expected to create many jobs and help the local economy.
VinFast hopes to make this its biggest plant for exporting EVs to Asia and other markets.
VinFast inaugurated its electric vehicle (EV) assembly plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, India.
The plant is VinFast's third operational facility globally and its first outside of Vietnam.
The facility will assemble the VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUV models.
The plant is expected to create 3,000 to 3,500 jobs in Thoothukudi.
