Amit Shah Warns Rahul Gandhi Over Gamosa Row
There's a big argument between the BJP and Congress parties in India.
The BJP says that Rahul Gandhi, a leader from Congress, was disrespectful because he didn't wear a special cloth called a gamosa that was given to him by the President.
The BJP leaders, Amit Shah and Himanta Biswa Sarma, said that Gandhi should respect the culture of the northeastern states.
But the Congress party says that other important people, like the Defence Minister and the BJP President, also weren't wearing the gamosa.
They also said that the government was being mean by making Gandhi and another Congress leader sit in the back row during a big event.
Both sides are arguing and blaming each other.
Home Minister Amit Shah accused Congress MP Rahul Gandhi of disrespecting Assamese traditions by not wearing a gamosa presented by President Droupadi Murmu.
Shah stated that the BJP will not allow any disrespect of northeastern culture as long as it is in power.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma criticized Gandhi for not respecting northeastern culture and advised him not to seek votes if he can't.
Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge countered by claiming that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP President Nitin Nabin were also not wearing the gamosa.
Kharge alleged that the government insulted Gandhi and him by seating them in the third row during the Republic Day parade.
