Indian Mutual Funds and IPOs Surge in 2025
In 2025, India's mutual fund industry grew a lot, with more people investing, especially young people and women.
They put a record amount of money into mutual funds through something called SIPs.
At the same time, many companies in India decided to sell shares to the public for the first time, raising a huge amount of money.
This was a big year for both mutual funds and new stock listings in India.
However, the stock market wasn't as active as before, and some companies that went public didn't do as well as others.
Experts think this growth will continue, but there are some risks and challenges ahead.
Indian mutual fund AUM grew by 18.69% YoY in 2025, reaching ₹81 trillion in November.
SIP inflows hit a record ₹3.04 trillion in 2025, with SIP AUM accounting for over 20% of total AUM.
Indian companies raised $22 billion through IPOs in 2025, the highest annual total ever.
Domestic investors now account for 75% of IPO investment, up from 57% in 2021.
Despite the IPO boom, trading activity lagged, and some newly listed companies struggled to maintain their IPO prices.
