Readers Debate Congress, National Symbols, Governance, and Electoral Rolls
Readers wrote about how Indian politics should work better.
One reader thinks Rahul Gandhi has improved but says Congress still needs better teamwork, alliances, and plans.
Another reader worries that forcing people to sing the full Vande Mataram could create religious tension.
This reader says lawmakers should concentrate on jobs, the NEET issue, and peaceful debate.
A different reader says voters should look at what governments actually achieve.
One letter raises concern that many voters in Karnataka could be removed from draft electoral rolls.
The writer says this might make people lose trust in elections.
They want officials to check voters’ details at home and make appeals easier.
Together, the letters ask political leaders and election officials to focus on fairness, results, and social unity.
A reader says Rahul Gandhi has gained political momentum but Congress needs stronger organisation, alliances, and a clear governing vision.
Another reader says imposing the full Vande Mataram could deepen communal divisions and urges lawmakers to focus on jobs, NEET, and parliamentary debate.
A third reader argues voters should judge parties by measurable governance results rather than repeated nationalist slogans.
A letter claims draft electoral-roll revisions could exclude more than 1.07 crore Karnataka voters and sharply reduce Bengaluru’s electorate.
The Election Commission of India is urged to conduct doorstep verification, extend appeals, simplify disputes, and publish deletion lists.
