Six Indian Women Who Ruled the Miss World Stage

Every few years, young women from all over the world take part in a big contest called Miss World, and one winner gets a special crown.

Women from a country called India have won this contest six times.

The first Indian winner was Reita Faria in 1966, who later became a doctor instead of a movie star.

Aishwarya Rai won in 1994 and became a very famous actress in Indian films like Devdas.

Diana Hayden won in 1997 and later acted in a movie called Tehzeeb and appeared on the TV show Bigg Boss.

Yukta Mookhey won in 1999 and acted in a Hindi movie called Pyaasa.

Priyanka Chopra won in 2000 and became famous in America too, starring in the show Quantico.

The most recent Indian winner was Manushi Chhillar in 2017, who also became an actress.

So winning the crown helped many of these women start exciting careers.
