Andhra Pradesh DRO Arrested for Bribery in Catering Bill Scam
In Andhra Pradesh, a government officer named Murali was caught taking a bribe.
He works as a District Revenue Officer in Palnadu.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) set a trap because someone complained that Murali asked for money to approve catering bills.
These bills were for meals provided during a program by the former Chief Minister.
The total bill was ₹37 lakh, and ₹10 lakh was already paid in advance.
Murali demanded ₹3 lakh to release the remaining ₹26 lakh.
The ACB caught him while he was taking the bribe.
Now, he might go to court if the charges are proven.
Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials caught District Revenue Officer (DRO) Murali accepting a ₹3 lakh bribe.
The bribe was for approving catering bills worth ₹26 lakh, part of a total bill of ₹37 lakh for meals provided during a program by the ex-Chief Minister in 2023.
A complaint was lodged against Murali for demanding illegal gratification to process and release the cheque for the remaining payment.
The ACB laid a trap and caught Murali red-handed while accepting the bribe.
Further investigation is underway, and if charges are proven, Murali will be arrested and produced before a judge.
