Ponguleti Directs Regularisation of Housing Board Leases
The revenue minister in Hyderabad had a meeting about lands owned by the Housing Board.
He told officials to protect these lands from people who might try to take them illegally.
There are 115 institutions that have leased these lands since a long time ago, and there are court cases about seven of them.
The minister wants to give these institutions a chance to make their leases official.
There are also 301 shops owned by the Housing Board.
Some of these shops are empty, and the minister said they should be sold if they can't be used.
He also wants to make sure the Housing Board wins the court cases about the lands.
Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy directed officials to protect housing board lands from encroachers.
115 institutions have leased housing board lands since the Nizam's era, with court cases pending over seven properties.
Officials were instructed to allow tenants to regularise their lease agreements.
The Housing Board owns 301 commercial shops, with 14 purchased by tenants and 62 currently vacant.
Srinivas Reddy proposed selling shops at market price if tenants wish to purchase them or auctioning land if shops are unsuitable.
