US-Iran Talks Called Promising as Tehran Sets Conditions

The United States and Iran held talks with help from mediators.

Steve Witkoff said the discussions were long, constructive and promising.

Iran confirmed that its Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with Witkoff.

Iran repeated conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

These conditions included lifting the naval blockade, releasing frozen Iranian money and ending fighting on all fronts.

Donald Trump said the US team had a very good three-hour meeting with mediators.

The talks happened during the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The mediators plan to continue working between the two sides.
