Severe Cold Wave Grips North India
North India is experiencing a very cold winter with many places colder than usual.
Delhi had its first cold wave of the season, with temperatures dropping to as low as 2.9°C in some areas.
Rajasthan had temperatures as low as minus 2°C.
Kashmir is also very cold, with some places at minus 8.6°C.
Punjab and Haryana also experienced intense cold, with temperatures as low as 1.6°C.
The outskirts of Gurgaon recorded a chilling minus 1.0°C, with frost covering fields and fences.
Schools in some areas are closed because of the cold.
The weather department says it will stay cold for a few more days.
The air in Delhi is not very clean, which makes it harder to breathe.
Additionally, dense fog is causing many flights to be cancelled or delayed, affecting travelers across the region.
Delhi experienced its first cold wave of the season, with temperatures dropping to 2.9°C in Ayanagar and 3.0°C in Palam.
Rajasthan recorded sub-zero temperatures, with Pratapgarh at minus 2°C and Barmer at minus 1°C.
Kashmir is in the grip of 'Chilla-i-Kalan', with Srinagar at minus 5.2°C and Shopian at minus 8.6°C.
Punjab and Haryana also experienced intense cold, with Bathinda at 1.6°C and Hisar at 2.2°C.
The IMD issued a yellow alert for cold wave conditions, predicting severe cold to continue for the next few days.
