Andhra Pradesh Launches URBIS Centre With UN-Habitat Support
Andhra Pradesh and UN-Habitat have opened a new centre called URBIS in Amaravati.
The centre is meant to help improve city infrastructure and encourage smart, sustainable planning.
It is located at the APCRDA headquarters in Rayapudi.
During the visit, officials showed the UN-Habitat team plans for Amaravati and projects under development.
The visitors also toured several projects and sites, including a quantum computing centre and a walking and cycling track.

The state government and UN-Habitat launched the Urban Innovation and Sustainability Centre, or URBIS, in Amaravati.
The centre was inaugurated Wednesday on the second floor of the APCRDA headquarters at Rayapudi.
Officials presented the Amaravati Master Plan, infrastructure projects, government complex construction and proposed investment opportunities to the visiting delegation.
The delegation also visited the Quantum Valley, VIT University, the E6 road cycling and walking track, and the Gravity Canal project.
A contribution agreement was signed by the state government’s principal secretary and a UN-Habitat representative.
