Madhya Pradesh Weighs Supreme Court Challenge to OBC Quota Verdict

Madhya Pradesh Weighs Supreme Court Challenge to OBC Quota Verdict

Madhya Pradesh had a law that increased job and education reservations for OBC communities from 14% to 27%.

The Madhya Pradesh High Court struck down that law.

The ruling means the 14% quota is back in place.

The state government, led by the BJP, is asking legal experts what it should do next.

It may ask the Supreme Court of India to review the decision, but it has not announced a final decision.

The BJP says the earlier Congress government made mistakes when it created the law.

Congress says the current government did not argue the case properly.

Congress also says it plans to challenge the ruling in the Supreme Court.
