Kashmiri Diaspora Urges UN Probe Into PoK Rights Abuses

Kashmiri diaspora members held a protest outside the United Nations in New York.

They wanted the world to pay more attention to problems they say are happening in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

The protesters alleged that people have been killed, arrested or made to disappear.

They blamed Pakistani security forces and authorities for these alleged abuses.

They asked for an independent investigation.

They also wanted people in the region to be able to speak without fear.

The protesters called for Pakistani security forces to leave the region.

They held the demonstration during a busy week of United Nations meetings.
