BJP Leader Alleges Section 22A Used for Illegal Land Collections

BJP leader Aleti Maheshwar Reddy accused the Telangana government of misusing a land-registration rule called Section 22A.

He said many private properties were wrongly put on a list that makes them difficult to register.

He claimed officials or politicians demanded money to remove some properties from the list.

The properties he mentioned were mainly in Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy district, and other parts of Telangana.

He said the value of affected properties could be very large.

Reddy also made allegations about the transfer of Phoenix Group assets to companies allegedly connected to the Revenue Minister.

He asked for investigations and punishment if wrongdoing is proved.

The government’s reported admission concerned the mistaken inclusion of private lands, but the article does not give a detailed response to all of Reddy’s allegations.
