Bengal MLA urges caution after JeM associate arrest
A politician from the BJP in Bengal, Chandra Sekhar Banerjee, told people in a big apartment building to be careful when renting out rooms.
He said this after a man linked to a terrorist group was caught in a nearby town.
Banerjee asked renters to give police copies of the tenant’s ID cards and to report any strange people.
The police had already arrested a student and others who might be connected to a militant group.
Because of these arrests, the police are watching apartment buildings more closely to keep everyone safe.
BJP MLA Chandra Sekhar Banerjee warned Durgapur residents to verify tenant background after JeM associate arrest.
The warning followed the arrest of Hamim Mondal in Burdwan town, East Burdwan district.
Residents of Tapaban City complex were advised to submit tenant documents to police and report suspicious activity.
West Bengal Special Task Force had earlier arrested a student and others linked to a militant group in Kanksa.
The incident heightened vigilance over housing complexes in Durgapur and surrounding districts.
