Rahul Gandhi Gets Privileges Committee Notice Over Amit Shah Remarks

In India's Parliament, the Lok Sabha, members follow strict rules when they speak during debates.

Rahul Gandhi is the Leader of the Opposition, an important politician in the House.

During a debate about a new law to stop cheating in government exams, he said some things about the Home Minister, Amit Shah.

Two lawmakers from the BJP, Anurag Thakur and Sanjay Jaiswal, thought his words were rude and against the rules.

They complained to the Speaker, Om Birla, who sent their complaints to a special group called the Committee of Privileges.

That committee sent Rahul Gandhi a notice asking him to explain what he said.

He has until August 28 to give his answer.

The notice does not say that he did anything wrong yet.

Both sides will get to share their views before any decision is made.
