iRobot Files for Bankruptcy, Acquired by Picea

iRobot, the company that makes Roomba vacuum robots, has filed for bankruptcy after 35 years.

They will be taken over by their main supplier, Shenzhen Picea Robotics Co.

The company started by three engineers from MIT and sold over 50 million robots.

They had money problems because of supply chain issues, more competition, and new U.S. tariffs.

A planned buyout by Amazon didn't happen due to regulatory concerns.

The bankruptcy plan will let the company keep working and pay its employees and suppliers.

The company's stock will be delisted, and shareholders will not receive any value for their investment.
