Tamil Nadu CM Vijay Visits UK to Seek Investments
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay has traveled to the United Kingdom.
He is taking government officials with him.
The group wants British and other foreign companies to invest in Tamil Nadu.
They will discuss areas such as electric vehicles, engineering, electronics and technology.
The state says European companies have already proposed projects worth about Rs 8,491 crore.
These projects could create nearly 5,690 jobs.
Vijay will also visit Silverstone Motor Racing Circuit.
He wants to learn how to develop a major motorsports facility in Tamil Nadu.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay left for the UK on Thursday and is scheduled to return on September 17.
The delegation includes Minister Aadhav Arjuna, SDAT member secretary Meghnatha Reddy and Guidance Tamil Nadu CEO Deepak Jacob.
Vijay will pitch Tamil Nadu as Asia’s premier investment hub and seek foreign investment in sectors including electric vehicles, engineering and technology.
The visit follows the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement taking effect on July 15, 2026.
Vijay and sports officials will study Silverstone Motor Racing Circuit as Tamil Nadu plans a world-class Motor Sports City.
