IIT Kanpur Expands Mental Health Support
IIT Kanpur is making big changes to help students with their mental health.
They hired more psychologists and a psychiatrist to support students.
Now, all new students will have a mental health check when they start.
The school also has a 24/7 helpline for emergencies.
They are teaching everyone on campus, like teachers and security guards, how to help students who are feeling sad or stressed.
This is because some students have had very serious problems.
The government has also set up a committee to check if the school is doing enough to help students.
The committee will look at what the school is doing and make suggestions to improve things.
IIT Kanpur has expanded its mental health support with 10 psychologists and a psychiatrist.
Mandatory mental health screening will be conducted for all new students.
