Maheshwari Chauhan Targets Asian Games Gold After Olympic Heartbreak
Maheshwari Chauhan is an Indian athlete who competes in skeet shooting.
In skeet, shooters try to hit flying targets with a shotgun.
She came very close to winning a medal at the Paris Olympics, finishing fourth by just one point.
That result was painful, but it also showed her that she can compete with the best.
She trains hard every day, including shooting practice, gym work and recovery.
She also uses breathing exercises and drawing to stay calm and focused.
Now she is preparing for the 2026 Asian Games in Japan.
Her goal is to win, while using the competition to prepare for the Los Angeles Olympics.
Maheshwari Chauhan finished fourth in the Paris 2024 mixed skeet event, missing a medal by one point.
The Indian shooter credits her sporting family and farm upbringing for introducing her to shooting.
She trains twice daily, combining skeet practice with physical conditioning, recovery, nutrition and mental preparation.
Chauhan uses breathing exercises, visual drills, repetition and creative activities to manage pressure and maintain consistency.
She hopes the 2026 Asian Games in Japan will be a stepping stone toward the Los Angeles Olympics and a chance to win gold.
