The Andhra Pradesh government has given 5 acres of land in Nagarjunakonda to build a special school for protecting and studying rural Buddhist heritage.

This school will be the first of its kind in India and will help document important but lesser-known Buddhist sites.

It will also train people in how to protect these sites and involve local communities.

The idea came from a big meeting in New Delhi where experts talked about how to save these heritage sites from threats like climate change.

They made a plan called the Delhi Declaration to guide this work.

The new school is expected to become an important center for Buddhist heritage in India.
