Andhra Pradesh prioritizes welfare despite financial constraints

In Andhra Pradesh, Minister Nara Lokesh announced that the government is continuing major welfare programs despite financial difficulties.

These programs include social security pensions, the Talliki Vandanam scheme, Anna Canteens, and free bus travel for women.

At an event in Mangalagiri, Lokesh distributed permanent house site pattas to 1,331 beneficiaries, fulfilling a promise made during the 2024 Assembly election campaign.

These pattas provide legal ownership and allow beneficiaries to secure bank loans.

The government is spending more on welfare and development than it earns, with support from the central government for projects like the Polavaram Irrigation Project and the development of Amaravati as the state capital.
