Delhi Tightens Pollution Measures: Bans Older Vehicles, Suspends Classes
Delhi is having a lot of trouble with pollution, so the government has decided to ban older cars that don't meet new pollution rules.
These cars are called BS-III and BS-IV vehicles.
Starting from December 18, only newer, cleaner cars (called BS-VI) will be allowed to enter Delhi.
This means many people who travel to Delhi from nearby cities like Noida, Ghaziabad, and Gurugram might have a hard time getting around.
The government is also making sure that all cars in Delhi have a special pollution check certificate to get fuel.
Additionally, the Delhi government has decided to suspend physical classes for students up to Class 5 from December 15 because the air quality is very bad.
This is all to help make the air cleaner and healthier for everyone in Delhi, especially the children.
Delhi's air quality remains in the 'very poor' category with an AQI of 328.
Ban on BS-III and BS-IV vehicles from entering Delhi starting December 18.
Vehicles without a valid Pollution Under Control Certificate (PUCC) will be denied fuel.
