Pimpri-Chinchwad Metro Area Plan Aims to Ease Traffic Congestion
Imagine Pimpri-Chinchwad is building more train stations that go underground or above the streets!
To make it easier for people to get around these new stations, the city is making a special plan for the areas right next to them.
This plan will help build things like homes and shops, but it also wants to make sure there's less traffic jams.
They are looking at 11 spots where the metro stations will be, or are already there.
A company is going to spend nine months figuring out the best way to do this.
Once they have a plan, they will ask people what they think, and then the big bosses will decide if it's okay.
The goal is to make the city better for everyone and stop cars from getting stuck in traffic.
PCMC is creating a Local Area Plan (LAP) for areas within 500 meters of 11 Pune Metro stations.
The plan aims to address traffic congestion and improve urban development around metro hubs.
Currently, six metro stations are operational, with four more under construction on the Purple Line extension.
A Gujarat-based organization has been awarded the contract to prepare the plan over the next nine months.
New building regulations in the Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) zones will include space for parking and require special permission from PCMC.
