DC Box Office Collection Day 4: Lokesh Kanagaraj & Wamiqa Gabbi's Film Nears ₹50 Crore Worldwide Despite Monday Drop · freepressjournal.in

A new Tamil movie called DC came out on August 7.

It is a romantic action story loosely based on a very old book, Devdas, written in 1917.

Lokesh Kanagaraj, a famous filmmaker, plays the hero Devadas — it is his first time acting in a movie.

Wamiqa Gabbi plays Chandra, who has a complicated relationship with him.

Devadas has a violent past and runs from the police after an officer is killed; he also gets caught up in a case about stolen weapons.

The movie earned ₹4.40 crore on its first day, then went up to ₹7 crore on Saturday and ₹9.55 crore on Sunday.

That made its opening weekend total ₹20.95 crore in India.

The reports disagree about Monday, when one says it made ₹3.24 crore and others say ₹5.70 crore or ₹6 crore.

Worldwide, the movie has collected around ₹44 crore, getting close to ₹50 crore.
