Supreme Court Stays Mumbai Blast Case Acquittals
In 2006, bombs exploded on Mumbai trains, killing many people.
Later, a special court found some people guilty.
Recently, a higher court said they were all innocent.
Now, the highest court in the country has stepped in.
They've temporarily stopped the decision that said everyone was innocent.
They're not sending anyone back to jail right now, but they want to make sure this decision doesn't affect other similar cases.
The highest court is reviewing the situation.
Supreme Court stayed the Bombay High Court order that acquitted all accused in the 2006 Mumbai train blasts.
The Maharashtra government challenged the High Court's verdict in the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court issued a notice to the accused and stated the High Court judgment shouldn't be a precedent.
Solicitor General of India requested a stay but didn't seek the accused's re-arrest.
The 2006 blasts killed 189 and injured over 800 people; a special court had previously convicted 12.
