Quad Foreign Ministers to Meet in US to Discuss Indo-Pacific
Leaders from the US, India, Japan, and Australia are meeting to talk about making the Indo-Pacific region safe and open.
This group, called the Quad, is like a team working together.
They want to make sure everyone can trade and live peacefully.
They will discuss issues in the South China Sea, where some countries disagree about who owns certain areas.
This meeting sets the stage for a bigger meeting that India will host later this year.
External Affairs Minister Jaishankar will attend the Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meetings (QFMM) on July 1.
The meeting will be hosted by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington DC.
The meeting aims to bolster efforts for a "free, open, and secure Indo-Pacific".
The Quad is a partnership between the US, India, Japan, and Australia.
The meeting is expected to prepare for the upcoming Quad Summit that India will host.
