BMC Plans Expert Panel for Bridges, Flyovers

BMC Plans Expert Panel for Bridges, Flyovers

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in Mumbai wants to create a team of 29 experts to help plan and build bridges, flyovers, and tunnels in the city.

This team will work for five years and will make sure the projects are well-designed and built on time.

The BMC has faced criticism for problems in recent projects, like the Mrinaltai Gore Flyover and the Gopal Krishna Gokhale bridge.

The experts will be responsible for designing the projects, finding potential problems before construction starts, and suggesting fixes during building.

The BMC will also set rules for how much these experts can charge and will penalize them if their designs cause big changes or extra costs.
