Vedanta to Sell 1.59% Hindustan Zinc Stake

Vedanta, a big Indian company, is selling a small part (1.59%) of its shares in Hindustan Zinc, another company it owns.

This sale is worth about ₹4,872 crore.

Vedanta currently owns 61.84% of Hindustan Zinc, and the Indian government owns 27.92%.

The sale is happening through a special process called an offer for sale (OFS).

Hindustan Zinc's stock has been going up a lot, which might be why Vedanta is selling some of its shares.

Vedanta has sold parts of its Hindustan Zinc shares before to help its financial situation.

Hindustan Zinc makes zinc, lead, and other metals, and it had a good third quarter with high production numbers.

The price of silver, which Hindustan Zinc also produces, has been going up a lot too, which is good for the company's profits.
