Powergrid Approves ₹705 Crore Investment in Grid Infrastructure
Imagine India's power grid as a giant web delivering electricity.
Powergrid, the company in charge, is spending a lot of money to make sure it works even better and is ready for anything.
They're building a new communication system, like a super-fast phone network, to help everyone talk quickly if there are problems.
They are also buying special towers that can fix broken power lines very fast after a storm or other problems.
This is all part of making sure the lights stay on and the power grid is strong, safe, and ready for anything.
Powergrid approved ₹705.51 crore for infrastructure projects.
A VOIP communication system will be established across regional grids.
The VOIP system is scheduled for completion by August 23, 2026.
₹495.83 crore is allocated for an Emergency Restoration System (ERS).
The ERS is set to be ready by April 19, 2027, and will be made in India.
