Supreme Court’s Samadhan Samaroh Seeks Mutually Acceptable Case Settlements

Supreme Court’s Samadhan Samaroh Seeks Mutually Acceptable Case Settlements

The Supreme Court is trying a program called the Samadhan Samaroh to help settle cases without long court battles.

It uses mediation, where people try to agree with help from a neutral person.

Chief Justice Surya Kant said court cases can cause people a lot of stress.

He wants both sides to leave feeling that they have won something.

The program began on April 21.

It will end with a special Lok Adalat from August 21 to 23.

Family, accident, business and land disputes are among the cases being considered.

The court hopes the effort will reduce the number of pending cases.
