Kolkata Passport Office Holds Adalats to Clear Backlog
The Passport Office in Kolkata is holding special meetings called Passport Adalats in January 2026 to help people who have been waiting a long time for their passports.
These meetings will be on specific days and will allow 800 people each day to come and fix any problems with their passport applications.
People need to bring their appointment letters and important documents.
The office wants everyone to come at their assigned time and be prepared so they can get their passports faster.
If people don't come or don't have the right documents, their applications might be closed.
The Regional Passport Office in Kolkata is organizing Passport Adalats on January 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, and 29, 2026, to expedite pending passport applications.
Each Adalat will accommodate up to 800 applicants across five time slots between 9:30 AM and 5:30 PM.
Appointments are strictly slot-based, and entry is allowed only 15 minutes before the allotted time.
Applicants must bring their original appointment letter, relevant documents, and self-attested photocopies.
Telephone enquiries and walk-in services will be suspended on the designated Adalat dates to manage the heavy footfall.
