Fresh Trishuli River Flood Sweeps Away Nepal Bridge

Fresh Trishuli River Flood Sweeps Away Nepal Bridge

A strong flood rose in Nepal’s Trishuli River.

It washed away a suspension bridge between Ghyalchowk and Charaudi.

The bridge was an important route to the Prithvi Highway.

People in two nearby local government areas can no longer use that route.

About 400 households used it to carry milk, vegetables, and other farm goods.

Farmers may now have difficulty taking their produce to Charaudi.

Another nearby bridge had already been destroyed by floods on August 26.

Authorities said Nepal’s floods had killed 788 people and left more than 2,500 missing.
