Ayush services support 1.76 million livelihoods, report says

A new report says India’s Ayush services sector provides work for about 1.76 million people.

Women make up 43 per cent of the workforce.

Many people work in local and standalone clinics.

Women are more than half of workers in several organised areas, including hospitals, schools and wellness businesses.

Clinics and day-care centres bring in much of the sector’s revenue.

Ayurveda is the largest individual system by revenue.

Wellness services and Yoga centres have also seen strong growth.

The report says the sector could become much larger by 2047.
